Are your journals vegan and cruelty-free?
Yes — absolutely. Our journals are made without any animal-derived materials, and we only work with suppliers who share our cruelty-free values.
What pens work best on your paper?
Our 160 gsm paper handles most pens beautifully — from fineliners and gel pens to brush pens and highlighters. We recommend avoiding alcohol-based markers as they can bleed through even the thickest paper.
Can I use paint in my journal?
You can! Our paper is perfect for light watercolour washes, gouache and acrylic detailing. As with any paper, too much water can cause rippling, so we suggest working in thin layers or using a blotting sheet underneath your page if you’re feeling extra creative.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept major debit and credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), as well as PayPal and Apple Pay. All payments are processed securely.
Will I need to pay any customs fees or import taxes?
If you’re ordering from outside the UK, your order may be subject to customs fees or import taxes depending on your country’s regulations. Sadly, these are outside our control. Your local customs office will be able to give you the most accurate guidance.
Can I change or cancel my order once it's been placed?
We try to dispatch orders quickly, so please get in touch as soon as possible if you need to make a change. Once your order has been packed or shipped, we may not be able to amend it — but we’ll always do our best to help.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes — we ship worldwide using fully tracked services. Shipping costs are automatically calculated at checkout based on your location and order weight.
Can I track my order once it's on its way?
You’ll receive a confirmation email with tracking details as soon as your parcel leaves our attic in Kent. You can follow its journey right to your door.
How long will my order take to arrive?
UK orders usually arrive within 2–5 working days after dispatch. International delivery times vary by destination — most parcels reach their new homes within 1–3 weeks. Seasonal peaks or customs delays may add a little extra time, so thank you for your patience.
Can I return or exchange my order if I change my mind?
If you change your mind, you’re welcome to return any unopened item within 14 days of delivery. Items must be in their original packaging and condition. Just email hello@thepaperattic.com to request a return label — the cost of return postage will be deducted from your refund.
